Berlin’s Most colourul JGA’s

And it Doesn't Involve a Bar Crawl

Every JGA in Berlin ends up looking the same. A group in matching t-shirts, a scavenger hunt around Warschauer Straße, a bar that's expecting you and mildly dreading it. It's fun for about three hours. Then everyone's cold, someone's lost their voucher book, and the bride or groom is holding a to-do list instead of a drink.

We built something else. You come to our studio in Prenzlauer Berg, pick up a tufting gun, and spend an afternoon making something with your hands. By the end, you're not tired, you're proud, slightly covered in yarn fluff, and holding a rug you made together.

Why tufting actually works for a JGA

Most JGA activities are built for one type of person: the loud ones, or the athletic ones. Tufting isn't like that. It's a power tool and a creative outlet in one, and somehow that combination works for everyone: the crafty one, the total beginner, and the friend who just wants to sit, chat, and watch the design come together.

A group of friends celebrate a bachelor's party at Tuft Tuft Berlin

Nobody's performing. Nobody's the centre of attention unless they want to be. Everyone leaves with the same thing: a piece of art they made themselves, on the day their friend got engaged or married.

What actually happens on the day

We keep this simple, because the group shouldn't be doing logistics on someone's bachelorette weekend.

Welcome sign for Martin's Bachelor party
  1. After booking, everyone gets an email with what to prepare and how to submit a design.

  2. Designs get sent to us in advance. We check them and suggest tweaks if something's too fiddly to tuft (thin lines and tiny type don't tuft well; bold and graphic does).

  3. You arrive to a studio that's already set up. Canvases stretched, your designs pre-drawn onto them. No setup time wasted on the one day you don't want to waste time.

  4. A proper safety intro. We walk everyone through the tool together and give you time to practice before you start on your real design.

  5. You tuft. This is the bulk of the day, and it's the part people don't expect to enjoy as much as they do. You settle into a rhythm, get into the creative zone, and before you know it you're deep in conversation with the friend next to you.

  6. We toast. Once the last rug is finished, we raise a glass together to celebrate the day's work.

  7. A photo by the rainbow wall, if you're up for it. Most groups are, and it's a nice way to close out the day.

  8. Collect your rug in 1-2 weeks once we've glued, trimmed, and finished it. Or add our express finishing and delivery if you're flying out before then.

Group tufting workshop at Tuft Tuft Berlin

The group logistics

We can comfortably fit 12 people tufting in the same room. If your group's closer to 14, we can still make it work, either a bit more elbow-to-elbow, or split across our upstairs and downstairs spaces so nobody's fighting over yarn.

Sizes and pricing follow our standard workshop options. Most JGA groups go for The OG (40×30cm, 3.5 hours, 140€ per person), which is big enough to actually finish in a session and small enough that beginners don't stall out halfway through. Want to go bigger? The Big One gives everyone more room to add detail.

FAQ

Can we drink during the workshop? Not while you're tufting, the gun needs both hands and your full attention. But once everyone's finished, we toast together as a group.

How many people can join? Up to 14 in one room. For bigger groups, message us and we'll figure out a set-up that works.

Do we need any experience? None. We teach everyone from scratch, and by the end most people are surprised how quickly it clicked.

What if someone's flying out before the rugs are ready? Ask about express finishing. We can speed up the gluing and shaving process and ship anywhere in Germany for a small fee.

How far in advance should we book? As early as you can, especially for weekend slots, and send your design at least 48 hours before the workshop so we have time to prep it.
