The most common question before a first workshop: "What on earth should I tuft?" Every rug here was made in our studio, so help yourself to some inspiration.
1. Fruit
Cherries in the OG size.
Clear shape, strong colours and instantly recognisable. A perfect first try.
An orange in the Mini size.
2. Pets

A cat in the Big One size.
Your pet doesn't have to look realistic. A few colours and a strong expression often work better than a photo.
3. Faces

A lot of personality from a few lines.
A few lines are all you need. A round face is quick to tuft and always gets a laugh.
4. Food

Pizza in the Mini size.
Pizza, a fried egg or your favourite dish: food has simple shapes and puts people in a good mood.
5. Words

A compliment for every morning.
Words work when the letters are big and thick. For small sizes, go for an initial or a very short word.
6. Flowers and nature

A flower in the Mini size.
Flowers and leaves are very forgiving. Nothing in nature is perfect either.
7. Abstract shapes

Geometric, in the Big One size.
No image in mind? Play with shapes and colours. It's also a lovely choice if you want the rug to match your home.
8. Something cheeky
Well, why not?
The best design is often the one that makes you laugh.
How to make your design tuftable
- Think big: clear shapes and thick lines rather than fine details.
- Few colours: two or three are enough for small rugs.
- No tiny text: small letters disappear into the pile.
